Great article! I am curious if you’ve found any that interface with Substack. I still plan to manually manage a lot of my Posts here, but it would be nice to write a Note that can be posted here, on Threads, on Bluesky, on Facebook, etc. all at once.
Got it…makes sense. I’m using all the platforms ultimately to drive people to my blog (total ownership and control), as well as to generally build an audience of people who want to read my stuff. Not for the sake of being known just inside the app, if that makes sense.
Maybe it makes sense to do a manager app for the “other” channels where I just don’t get as much engagement (but don’t want to abandon), and then manage Substack manually.
The thing I fear with platforms is that you build an audience on a platform and then that platform changes, and there goes your audience (see: Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Substack is good now, but will it always be? Hence, use platforms to build a brand that exists independent of the platform, hence, make it easier to manage all channels.
Thank you Neill. Very happy to know you've found it useful. Yes, my focus is always on the real free, zero-cost (or quasi) tools which can be very helpful to indie entrepreneurs.

Substack is out of this game January. By design. For all the others there's a solution, but Substack does not allow third party tools to do so.

Great post and love the focus on the free part of freemium :)
